To answer some Questions that came via PM.
Camping without a luxury stand is cheaper about 200.
All fees payable directly to the reception.
You can join us only on Saturday, just let me know so that we wait for you.
The syncro's will be traveling at there own pace as we are more than 4 now and some of the guys haver never been off road with their vans.
Thanks
Xavier

My Brother done the Serendipity couple of years ago, he was not very happy with the rocky terrain. Thats at least what he told us after we also wanted to go.
He reckons its not very Syncro friendly, unless you are prepared to take on fairly tough rock.

Let us know what is your experience there from your point of view please.

It was the second trail I did after buying my Syncro and there was only one place that was a bit bad but after a Land-Rover owner basically called me chicken, I decided to show him what a Syncro could do and did the obstacle without issues. The Landy did not make it and had to be winched up! Will see if I can get the videos uploaded to Youtube for your enjoyment.

Just to add, it was a few years ago and the trail might have changed.

This makes me even anxious, I have also heard mixed stories about the trail . I have no problem going around a obstacle if there is any chance of damaging my van.
Most of the guys coming with are new to the off road environment and we plan to use it as a learning curb. (sounds like we might be in the deep end, all good)
The nice thing is that there are now enough vans so we can travel on own at our own pace.
looking forward to it.

I'm sure it will be fine. As I remember there were escape routes.

I managed to upload my attempt on the only serious hill I remember. I wanted to do the Land Rover one as well but it is 176mb and up to that point he was still trying to get over the hump. In that one you can actually see how steep the hill is. The Syncro makes it look easy. Everything standard except the engine which was a Oettinger 2.5 WBX at that stage. The guy looking at the doka after I go up was some guy from 4x4 Megaworld with a fully kitted out Hiluc SFA and even he had to winch himself up. He almost slid off the side of the hill. Syncros rock!

Enjoy!

That really doesnt look too bad.

I think its the weight distribution of a Syncro that makes it so epic.
It sommer makes me lus for 4x4ing on a friday hehe

It doesn't look bad from the top down, but it's much more intimidating from the bottom. What you can't see on the video is the drop off the side of the hill. Anyway, as I said it was my second ever trail and I was nervous after seeing the Hilux with all it's upgrades nearly sliding off the side of the hill. Maybe it wasn't that bad after all. Only way to know is to try it again. Big Grin

Pity I can't make the trip.

Looks great Bernard. Sorry you cant make it, would be great to have more experienced syncro drivers there.
There must be a lot more places one can go just for day trips. 1 1/2 hours drive max would be perfect. I have found when my van stands problems start to occur.
I would still like to dinokeng day trail .
