Re: alfa conversion
Thanks for the pics Stuart. 8km/l at 140kmh is fantastic! Especially considering fuel consumption was never much of a priority for Alfa. That is also the old 12V engine that came in the Alfa 6 saloon and GTV6. Late 70's to early 80's. It was a great engine but not that powerful compared to the later 24v engines. 116kw which I suppose was pretty good at the time, considering the Ford 3.0 V6 pushed out 102kw. The 3.0 Alfa 12v produced between 147 to 154kw! But when they went 24V the engines were amazing. 145kw from the 2.5 and an even better sound. EVO magazine voted the Alfa V6 the best sounding 6 cylinder road engine ever. It also picked up numerous engine design awards. Also the best looking production V6 in my opinion.

Re: alfa conversion
Thanks for the video clips Bernard. I like the drag race against the Audi V6. There you can see the biggest difference between the two engines. The Alfa V6's just love revving.

Re: alfa conversion
Nice engines, just keep in mind what power the gearbox can handle, repairs to them can be quite costly.

My toy is coming along, still cleaning and scrubbing and working on the adaption to vw gearbox. Not 100% sure yet how and what. Fana at adaptor & conversion centre can do it,just need to get the stuff to him to start fabrication. Still looking at some other options too.....

Can't get the pics loaded from tablet, will try on pc later.
