Links in forum
Aloha all!

I've noticed something really annoying on the forum:

when you click on a link,it doesn't open it in a separate browser,that means you're leaving the forum to look at it,and when you close it,BAM,the door is closed to go back to the forum :lol: :lol:

My 2 cents for today :mrgreen:

Have a good Syncro day 8-)

Re: Links in forum
That irritates me too, but I'm sure the mods can make it that it opens a new tab automatically.

Re: Links in forum
It annoys me as-well. Unfortunately i dont have a clue how to remedy it. Or that may be a good thing.

Re: Links in forum
Isn't this a browser problem?
Changing settings should sort it?

Re: Links in forum
On the Aircooled forum it open it automatically in another window, so I think it is maybe a global setting on the forum"framework" or "structure". I know you can use the right-click to open in another window, but out of habit from the other forum I just double-click the link without thinking.

Re: Links in forum
Thanks for feedback, Iv fixed the problem hopefully didnt create any others in the process.

U must use the URL function on the forum, else links wont be visible.

The company who made the forum released this:
Compared to phpBB3, links in phpBB2 had a slightly different behaviour: When you clicked them, they opened a new window with the requested page. This was changed in phpBB3 for a couple of reasons, but one of the most important ones was the goal to achieve XHTML 1.0 Strict-validation for the whole board.

To to overcome i used some tricky coding, here is my master piece Smile

case 'bbcode_htm':
return array(
'#<!\-\- e \-\-><a href="mailtoSad.*?)">.*?</a><!\-\- e \-\->#',
'#<!\-\- l \-\-><a (?:class="[\w-]+" )?href="(.*?)(?Sad&amp;|\?)sid=[0-9a-f]{32})?" onclick="window\.open\(this\.href\);return false;">.*?</a><!\-\- l \-\->#',
'#<!\-\- ([mw]) \-\-><a (?:class="[\w-]+" )?href="(.*?)" onclick="window\.open\(this\.href\);return false;">.*?</a><!\-\- \1 \-\->#',
'#<!\-\- s(.*?) \-\-><img src="\{SMILIES_PATH\}\/.*? \/><!\-\- s\1 \-\->#',
'#<!\-\- .*? \-\->#s',
'#<.*?>#s',
);

That might as well be some long lost text that no one has managed to deciphered yet to me.
