Re: My new van
Had trouble with my new Seikel rear shocks. They were leaking after 15 000km. Had them serviced and the same happened again after similar distance.

I showed the problem to Andre de Villiers of Safari Centre. Andre got hold of me to tell me that Peter Seikel, the designer ode system and that awesome T5 Extreme exhibited at the VW Festival on 2 Nov, had decided to replace the shocks at no charge.

The shocks were imported by VWSA, so Safari Centre had nothing to do with the supply. On Friday last week, I drove through to Six Fountains, head office of Safari Centre, where they fitted new Seikel Bilsteins at no charge.

They recommended that I upgrade the rear springs at the same time to save the new shocks due to the failure, possibly caused by overloading. I gave the go ahead, and ended up wit the rear diff now at 340mm off the deck!

Not a great pic, but have a look at the difference below - the top of his van's bumper, and the bottom of my van's bumper. Note that both are 4Motions.

Exactly. Barn doors are for post office vans.

Re: My new van
there used to be a few around here. When i were but a young boy my parents yo-used to take us nearly every friday.
The one here in Ferlands stayed open till the very early 90's. But suppose the land value out weigh the income in the end.
