Re: Any Factory & Aftermarket 2L Golf conversion info
Hi guys,

I can get an AGG motor [attachment=0] from the guys at http://www.enginesforsale.co.za for what I think a reasonable price. According to their web site, the AGG came with the MP9 FIS or the Siemens SIMOS FIS as standard fitting, whereas the 2E motor has the Digifant FIS as standard. What do I have to check for in so far as what I get with the motor? Harness, MAP sensor, ECU ??????? Also, has anybody dealt with these guys before and what comments can you make about them ?

Any help appreciated,

Thanks

Frans BosBus

Re: Any Factory & Aftermarket 2L Golf conversion info
If you want to save yourself some effort buy a motor with the Simos intake on it, the one in the picture you posted. Then you already have the correct fuel rail, injectors, intake and throttle body.

All you need to get then is a MAP sensor, knock sensor, Wiring harness, ECU, coil and a 4 window distributor.
You ought to be able to pick all the listed parts up for around R4000. Splitfan or Stuart will be able to sort you out with
the parts.

All you then do is drill holes in the intake to fit the MAP sensor and the rest you just plug in.

I did mine myself. If everything works as it should you can do it in under 2 hours.

Re: Any Factory & Aftermarket 2L Golf conversion info
Thanks Tichafa,

The price on the AGG motor was R5200, tested, guarenteed to start first time and delivered to my house. The head was cleaned up and ports smoothened. Unfortunately my arse is itching to do the conversion but finances are a bit tight still. The 2.1L WBX is still purring like a kitten only marking territory with a main bearing oilseal leak so if it holds till the new year i will do the Golf conversion then.
