My bay window's fuel sensor failed a few months ago so I ordered one from them and installed it 3 days later. I think it takes longer to get through customs than to actually get it here. Excellent service.

Post some pictures of your bay window please, I'm a big fan.
In 1999 I bought a 20 year old Bay Window in great original condition - it was younger than my Syncro is now.
It was the same age as me - 1979
I couldn't afford to maintain it to the level I wanted to and sold it for R 11 000 Huh
It's now worth around R 60 000.

Was a cool car.

These arrived with the hubcaps.
The missing gutter trim corners.

Bernard those insulation screens will not fit your bus as you have a big window. They do work well.

Gearbox came out today.
It was jumping out of 4th.
Everything actually looking quite decent, way better than I was expecting.
So just new bearings and a new fourth gear for now.

VC getting a refurb as well, going for an aggressive VC and a decoupler.
Here are the pieces on the table.

go solid shaft and a decoupler, one less part that can fail

I may be a mechanic, but i can't fix stupid
Bad planning on your part does not make your issue an crisis to me
Bad workmanship by other garages does not entiltle you to better rates at me

MMmm...not a bad idea.
But Russel tells me that there are benefits to keeping the VC as a "Sports Coupler."
Basically a Viscous Coupler with a very high viscosity fluid that is almost a solid shaft.

Viskussed Coupler

Broken Fourth Gear

This shaft has been replaced before

Front Diff and speedo thing

STEYR!
It would be cooler if this branding was on the outside of the vehicle

Good to see no damage here.

Got some repair work to do here.

RE: My White 1990 Caravelle Syncro
Limer are the Aftermarket crown wheel and pinion, first batch we got were Ok, last few have been terrible, lucky to get 20k km out a set, while it is open replace with an oe cw&p, while you can still get them, i have 2x in stock.

there are advantages and disadvantages to solid shaft and sports VC, advantage of a solid shaft is that it cannot fail.

RE: My White 1990 Caravelle Syncro
My gearbox is finally coming out tomorrow after a missed my previous appointment a month ago. Of course I'm curious to know what has failed in mine....

My crown wheel and pinion were replaced by parts purchased from Inter Spares. I think the cw&p where made in Turkey - can't remember now.

Where does Limer come from?

So it could be the pinion bearing as the sound is very similar to the noise I had in 2012 or it could be a failed cw&p.

Should I start praying?
