RE: My White 1990 Caravelle Syncro
Adding some new parts and am wondering if they are good enough quality.
Any opinions would be welcome. Febi Lower Ball Joint Any Good? Bosch Fuel pump I'm confident is the right thing. I'm planning on using this stuff for my C.V. grease... And this for my bearings... I tried to get hold of CV-2 Red Line Oil for my C.V's but can't find a Cape Town Supplier. Does anyone one the forum have a favourite for C.V and or Bearing Grease? Thanks! look ok, we also use febi ball joints, keep the fuel pump as a spare, if yours is still ok,

RE: My White 1990 Caravelle Syncro
Thanks Stuart
I got the fuel pump as an extra because you listed it as a thing to have when travelling and my 25 year old one is still working. Good to know you use febi as well, they look like really good quality. Caravelle Syncro 2.3 Andreno 1990 Caravelle Syncro 2.1 Stock Standard Volksiebus 1.8 1994 Microbus 2.3i 2002 |

RE: My White 1990 Caravelle Syncro
Got some new stuff hoping to remove steering play and squeaky wheel noises.
Meyle is what they had, I've heard mixed reports on the quality - we shall see. Got FAG rear bearings which is cool. Spark plugs are what the computer recommended. Some new tools also to make the job easier. Caravelle Syncro 2.3 Andreno 1990 Caravelle Syncro 2.1 Stock Standard Volksiebus 1.8 1994 Microbus 2.3i 2002 |

RE: My White 1990 Caravelle Syncro
Sure Rob no problem.
I got it from busshmeide. Check out their site and wait for it to change to english through google translate. Just ordered the kit in EUR They know their stuff and the product quality is second to none but after I had paid ( they do wire transfer only which was a real effort) they then discovered they didn't have all the parts and then only weeks later sent it through -and it is Awesome!! Russel set it up for me and I'm extremely happy with his work and the product. Even has an original knob and light. All in at around R 10 000 including fitment. I'll have to check the costs with my sister who runs my business and has a very full and accurate file dedicated to unacceptable losses due to the 1990 vw Syncro. click here for the link to decoupler on online shop Most often I see them as not available but these guys seem to be. So that's good. It's a painful process getting it here and then fitting but when it works life is good again. Until your bearings start squeaking and your ball joint breaks... Thanks Stuart
Good to know, I'm weary about all the stuff from them, I couldn't find FAG for the front but presume they are actually easy to find if I look a bit harder. Caravelle Syncro 2.3 Andreno 1990 Caravelle Syncro 2.1 Stock Standard Volksiebus 1.8 1994 Microbus 2.3i 2002 |
