Driving with no prop shaft
Evening members,
In looking at various syncros for sale I have come across two vehicles who's owners have removed the prop shaft for fuel economy, regardless of whether this improves the economy, does this not damage the VC, as I see it, this relays to the VC that there is a difference in wheel rpm that locks the VC permanently, surly this is not good for it??
Regards
Nigel

RE: Driving with no prop shaft
I don't think it does any harm to the VC. It is the same as using a decoupler. If it was an issue, surely there would not be so many Syncros driving with decouplers in Europe.

Life's a journey, not a race. Enjoy it.

RE: Driving with no prop shaft
removing prop does not help significantly with fuel consumption, only saves wear to the vc, as there is no direct drive to it, also saves the front cv's, no drive load on them, decou[pler is the answer.

I may be a mechanic, but i can't fix stupid
Bad planning on your part does not make your issue an crisis to me
Bad workmanship by other garages does not entiltle you to better rates at me
Syncro, syncro , syncro and more syncro, this is the syncro way of life
