Flip top roof for Syncro
Familiar with the European en USA Vanagon edition of the Westfalia or "Westy"? Anyone doing some conversion in South Africa for a flip top on the roof of my Syncro bus? Is this a good idea at all due to the structuaral changes required. My Caravelle has an Aircon and I presume it is quite a tricky and expensive job...

Thank you for tips and ideas...

RE: Flip top roof for Syncro
Hi Willem,

As far as I know Stuart at Syncro Hospital is the only one doing Westy-type pop tops at the moment. Have a look at this thread for pictures of the top he added to my bus.

Nick

The top only requires a hole to be cut into the section of the roof between teh stiffeners so no major structural changes. The hinges bolt through the back of the roof.
