Hello from Cape Town
I have longed for a syncro for a long time and now is finally the time that I could afford one. It seems there are not many on sale at the moment.

RE: Hello from Cape Town
HI I am from Cape Town too , joined now - on behalf of my father , We have been eyeing out a Syncro for a while now

An finally he bought one , it does have Toyota Diesel engine , and is suffering from overheating problems , but that is the challenge , to make it reliable , it is the old school non injected diesel , i think its 2y engine 2.2

looking through this forum , it seems Golf 2 l petrol motor is the way to go though , well see how well we can get it running first and then asses

I am helping out now as this will definitely be making its way to me in the future

:-)

RE: Hello from Cape Town
it is a 3c motor if a 2.2 and a 2c if a 2.0, Y series are pertol, 3y being 2.0 and 4y being 2,2,

3 c do run hot in a syncro, very hard to solve, good luck, my personal one with approx R45K worth of mods still runs hot,

I may be a mechanic, but i can't fix stupid
Bad planning on your part does not make your issue an crisis to me
Bad workmanship by other garages does not entiltle you to better rates at me
Syncro, syncro , syncro and more syncro, this is the syncro way of life
