Gearlink rubber boots & bushes
Good afternoon to all.
Currently busy replacing the waterboxer with 2L Golf and doing all CV boots and related maintenance on seals and gearshift bushes and rubbers on rear of bus ! VW just says no longer available to anything you ask !
Does anybody know where to get the rubber boots and bushes needed to dress up my gearshift ?? Or what alternatives can be used ?
Your help will be greatly appreciated !
Regards
Derick

If you cannot get any, instead of importing, I made a small modification to a very similar boot I found and it works like a charm...
Let me know if you need help.

Please excuse the quality of the pictures.....must be the dust ;-)

They are slightly over-greased(Marine Grease)

Below you'll see that the new rubber boot is a little longer than the original, this is why there is a small "mod" in the next picture

See below, I've spaced the "cup" holding the ball. Look closely and you'll see its not bolted straight to the gearbox like it used to be.

There is also a very small piece of one of the rubber boots that needs to be cut in order for it to fit into the metal cup around the ball on the shaft

If anyone is interested, ill just confirm pricing.
Send me a pm
