RE: Big Window Syncro's
Hi everybody
We just bought a 1991/92 big windows syncro caravelle with original 2.1 engine, and 130K on the clock i have done the following to make it all mechanically dependable cv's, inner and outs, cv boots, teering components in the front almost all replaced, idling valve, front wheel bearings , new 14" tyres , oil cooler , bougi cords, waterpump , 2 water pipes and a new master brake cylinder, some small thing still to do, fix a dent on the front etc it was used by the previous owner to explore all of ZA, later even used to farm in, removed a full wheelbarrow of dirt from the underside...lol when his eyesight deteriorated he bumped the bus and his kids took the keys away, it stood for approx 5 years, used as a storage place for chemicals, as luck would have it i saw it, was able to buy it together with my Dad as a father son project, not really knowing what a unique model we had bought... what an awesome bus, lovely to drive, very balanced and solid can anybody tell me what the serial number range was for the last 89 big window syncros, my serial is 003098 Cheers Volker |
