Tyres for snow
Hi Guys

we are doing a trip to Lesotho In Aug, hopefully we have snow.

this question is more for the Guys from The UK and europe.

Most of Lesotho's roads are now Tar, sealed surface, but we will be doing a few 100Km's of off road, ie Gravel road.

now if it does snow which are better tyres, Mud Terrains or all terrains? i will not have snow chains. both sets are basically brand new. no we dont get snow tyrs here in SA, and also we might only get snow, and we have about 1200km on Tar toad travel on the trip.

i have never actually seen real fresh snow, so we can hope

thanks stuart

RE: Tyres for snow
Definitely mud terrain tyres on fresh snow Stuart.
The only question is if it worth it to drive 1200 km tar on mud terrains for little fresh snow.
The decision is yours. Smile

RE: Tyres for snow
Yes MT tires. Just always be careful of ice under snow.

Thanks guys, i will fit the Muds to a set of steels for the trip, i prefer Muds for off road anyway so good to Know they are better in snow.
