2018 Epic Bostwana and Namibia 4x4 trip

2018 Epic Bostwana and Namibia 4x4 trip
Hi All

I am planning one big Syncro/4x4 trip for 2018, it will be a long trip, 17 days, of which you will only need 8 days leave, rest are public holidays and weekends.

Dates: 17 March 2017 to 02 April 2018.
Countries: Botswana, Namibia (Kaudom and Caprivi), Zimbawe (Vic Falls) optional from Chobe
Total Distance: approx 4300km, Gauteng to Gauteng
Cost: adults, R13250 first person, 2nd person and more and children over10, R11500, children under10 years R7900 pp
All camping fees and park entrance fees included, if staying in the park. other park fee for your own account, like Chobe
min no of vehicles for the trip is 8, max is 15.
50% deposits due 05 Dec 2017, to ensure booking, balance due 05 Feb 2017.
route may change a little as per booking availability and route conditions, deposits will be refunded if the trip is cancelled by myself. Deposits are non refundable after final payment date, as booking will be prepaid, but you can sell your spot to others.

Sat 17 March: meet at Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Serowe, Botswana, 550km
Sun 18: drive to Kubu Island, Magadigadi pans, 220km, half off road
Mon 19: Nxai Pan NP, Baines Boababs, 300km, serious thick sand
Tues 20: Maun, Afternoon to shop, get meat, drinks etc, 200km
Wed 21: Maun, flight over the delta, day to rest, 5 pax delta flight, R5000, ie R1000pp.
Thu 22: Bush camp, near nambia border, 320km
Fri 23: Kaudom, Namibia, Kaudom camp, very basic, 250km
Sat 24: Kaudom Sekeriti camp, 100km
Sun 25: Ngepi area, Okavango, Namibia, Bush camp. 200km
Mon 26: Babwata NP, Nambwa camp, on the Kwando river, 230/300km, route dependant, tar or off road, sand
Tue 27: Babwata NP, day trip, Horseshoe bend, Fort Doppies, etc,
wed 28: Kasane, via, Chobe, etc, 350km
Thu 29: Kasane, day in Chobe NP, sunset cruise, (park fees for own acc)
Fri 30: Hunters rd, off road, Pandamatenga, 250km
Sat 31: Hunters rd, off road, Nata area, 350km
Sun 01: Kharma, 350km
Mon 02: home, 510/400km

trip includes all camping and park fees if staying in a park,
does not include, fuel, food, drinks, excursions like sunset cruises, Chobe park fees, delta aeroplane trip, white water rafting etc, breakdowns etc, upgrades to chalets etc, any border fees,

also please note, some places may have below par ablution facilities, but most will be good,

Approx fuel costs, R6-7000-00 per vehicle
Border fees approx, Bots dual entry, Pula 250, Namibia N$300, Zim US$ 100, best to have the correct currency, as border money changers rip people off,

each vehicle to have fuel for Approx 700km, 1x spare wheel, water for 3 days approx 20 litres drinking water, any vehicle specific parts for your vehicle, tow rope, compressor, jack tools etc, not advised to tow a trailer, passports, vehicle papers, etc

a trip like this with a big tour operator will cost over R22k pp sharing, this trip is R13250 pp. camping fees in Botswana, are going up yearly, so this will be probably the last trip, most will be able to afford, prices are already over 30% up from last year,

Bad planning on your part does not make your issue an crisis to me
Bad workmanship by other garages does not entiltle you to better rates at me
