Re: Hennops Syncro Day July 2012
Hi Dean,

If you guys are going to take the R511 William Nicol Drive, I can meet you guys at the BP on the left at the N1/ William Nicol off-ramp where we met for the November meet last year. Maybe Hugh (Biskutt), Robh, John (32wbx6) and anyone else from the Randburg/Sandton area can meet up there at about 7h15 on Sunday morning and we can then join the convoy from there.

Hi Frans
Sounds like a great idea. Where exactly is that BP - on the Fourways side of the N1 near Monty or on the Bryanston side?

Re: Hennops Syncro Day July 2012
Hi Hugh,

It is / was ??? on the Fourways side. :? :? Looking at the "google maps" imagery to find the co-ordinates, it seems to have disappeared as it now shows some earthworks being done by WBHO over the site. The only thing standing is a billboard with BP on it.I am not to sure without physically checking it. i will not be able to get to the area this week to check. I have also not heard from Dean about the route they are taking.

Can you or Rob maybe suggest another meeting place that you know is still physically standing?

cheers
Frans

Re: Hennops Syncro Day July 2012
Hi Hugh/ Frans, what about the Fourways High School, alittle further down on the left. I can check the street name and post it if you are not sure where it is. The nice thing is they have quite a large parking directly off the road, and it's out of the way?

Re: Hennops Syncro Day July 2012
Hi Hugh / Rob,

Apologies, I need an urgent appointment with SpecSavers/Torga Opticals   While looking to find where the Fourways High School si situated, I stumbled upon the elusive BP filling station. Smile It is a bit further down William Nicol than I at first anticipated. There is actually two of these phenomena (BP's), one either side of W/Nicol, halfway between the freeway and Toyota on the Leslie Rd intersection. On the way to Monti's, where we will turn left into Witkoppen, right into Cedar and on to Hennops.

The GPS point according to Google maps is : -26,035842 28.010995

If you guys know the place and it is OK to meet there pse. let me know. Again, hoping this is the route that the eastern (Bugger & family) and southern (Dean, Alan & syncromom) clans are going to follow. No confirmation as yet.

Cheers,

Frans

Re: Hennops Syncro Day July 2012
Hi Dean thanx,

I will take that as a confirmation that you will be taking that route. I will hopefully be hanging around the BP at around 7h15 so anybody from the northern JHB parts that want to join, you're welcome. We can enjoy some coffee while we wait for the southern/eastern convoy to arrive. I have a feeling in me bones that it is going to be an awesome outing Big Grin Big Grin Can't wait.............
