Starter,no reaction
Hi,
I came back from a 500km drive in pouring rain and some deep waterpuddles on tar and gravel roads.Once, after passing through some wet sections the car stuutred once or twice but that was only electrical issue I had (probably to be expected.
I came home, parked car in street and 2 hours later tried to start it but no reaction from startermotor.
There was no telltile click from the solenoid nor did the icnition lights dim when I turned the key to start the car.
I would assume the no-reaction would be due to the wet, muddy conditions, but where do I start looking for the obvious cause?
(I rolled down the hill to easily pushstart it in second gear, parked in the garage, switched it off and dead again)

Thx for any advice!

Hans

RE: Starter,no reaction
Hans,

Another thing to check is that your earths are all making good connections.

There is an earth to the gearbox that is particularly troublesome.

Then make sure the actual earth straps are not rusted internally, this can also increase resistance to the point that you get no current.

If that’s fine, and there is actually good current from the battery, then I’m out of my depth.
