baviaans this (past) weekend
Well unlike the UK guys who are off to Wales where apparently "men are men and the sheep are nervous", We are off to Baviaans this weekend where the animals still rule. Free ranging buck, zebras,Rhino, Buffalo and maybe a leopard or two. Just last week a guy was severely injured by a buffalo. No cell phone reception and at least 3 hours drive to get help. He eventually was admitted to hospital at 02H00 and went into surgery for a 10 hour op.

Anway we are hoping to just spot them from a distance. Weather forecast looks good and maybe we will have some pics for you on Monday. Of Syncros, not buffalo's! It's about time Herman gets his tyres dirty!

Re: baviaans this weekend
Enjoy and take lots of nice pics!

Hope I can make next year's Saamtrek and experience it myself.

Life's a journey, not a race. Enjoy it.

Re: baviaans this weekend
We spent too much time chilling and driving and no time taking pics. Sorry! Big Grin I've been going to Baviaans for about 20 years and I'm sure this is the greenest I've ever seen it. Flowers everywhere. Was a great weekend and if we get the Saamtrek EC Tour together next year it will definately form part of the route.

There is a Syncro in this pic. 2 in fact. Just on the other side of the building.

A few more to come soon...

Re: baviaans this (past) weekend
Wow looks absolutely amazing and a great photo.
Looks like they have done some serious renovating on that accomodation - when did they put the solar geyser in? That is the farmhouse behind the stone kraal on the plateau? [the only place where you have cell reception for miles]

Re: baviaans this (past) weekend
This is just to give you an idea of the area around Bergplaas. Chris they fixed this place up nicely a couple of years ago. Even walls for the bathroom and toilet now! And ceilings so that it stays nice and cool in the summer. I don't know what happened to the original farmhouse but there are a couple of amazing stone walled kraals still around.
